Hyd: Fraudster held for duping 3 of Rs 31 lakh

Habeebnagar police on Saturday arrested a fraudster who duped three people of Rs 31 lakh by promising to secure them government jobs. The accused is Moinuddin Chisty, 44, from Karimnagar. In 2015, Moinuddin gained the confidence of Zafar Nazamuddin Khan, Wasi Ahmed and Abdul Quader and told them he has good contacts with government officials. “The accused told the three men that he can secure them jobs in rural development department and collected Rs 31.75 lakh from them,” Habeebnagar inspector P Shiva Chandra said.

Two sisters from Nizamabad who were trafficked to Oman have been rescued by the Indian Embassy in Muscat. “The two women contacted the embassy and they have now been put up in embassy’s guest house,” the embassy informed. After their plight came to light, the embassy provided a toll-free number for the women to contact. The embassy has also sought the names of the agents and sponsors in Oman.

‘3rd Budget’ in 8 months: Govt cuts corporate tax to historic low

The govt on Friday announced a Rs 1.45 lakh crore fiscal stimulus that includes slashing corporate tax to 22% from 29.5% for companies that do not seek exemptions, 15% for new manufacturing start-ups as well a cut down on MAT (minimum alternate tax).
